da the double standards hip hop artists seem to have in regards to male and female idol groups. i mean, i'm not saying they should give girl groups flack (cos god knows they have to deal with so much other more serious shit), but male hip hop artists are a lot more judgemental towards male idols than females. i mean gods sakes swings goes on and on about how much he hates idol rappers, but when asked what idol he'd like to collab with he chooses hyuna

so many rappers are sooo bitter towards male idols

"masculinity" and what it's meant to be is a big part of khh unfortunately (i say this as a khh fan), so they see male idols as gay and girly. this isn't really just khh, but a lot of non kpop fans probs feel this way coming across kpop for the first time

yeah plus they also talk about selling out and stuff like that
i'm a khh fan too and i can't help but rme when my hiphoppars say shit like that (one of my fav rappers dissed a crew for being too mainstream and idol-ish but then he recruited an actual idol -zico- for his crew... lol k)

i get the selling out stuff, because i understand as an underground rapper who really LOVES what they're doing and mostly doing it for the joy of performance, it'd piss you off to see mediocre idol groups make a lot more money and gain a lot more publicity while being "manufactured". but at the same time, i think they've got to understand that their music is specifically tailored for the masses and is hence popular music? like they really couldn't have gotten into the underground scene expecting nearly as much recognition? also the fact they pretty much only specifically mention male idols and NEVER females is pretty telling. after all, female idols are "sell outs" too

i feel like people like zico get a pass somehow. you sort of have to prove yourself in skill before they accept you as one of their own. but it makes me rme too, because zico is pretty much playing the exact same game, and he himself is completely aware of that. b-free, who i used to love, boggles me in particular. because he hates idols and has 0 respect for them, but was also featured on a track with JAY PARK where they both hate on idol music and i'm just like lol, ok you guys do that

i think bobby has an interest future ahead of him in regards to his place in khh. because he was never part of the underground scene and was basically bred in yg like gd, but he also already has a lot more respect from khh artists than gd did
