yeah like honestly you don't even realise how fond you are of seunghoon until one day you're watching a winner interview and you're like "omg can we just get seunghoon to speak!!". like honestly i have never met an incle who doesn't love/really like seunghoon (then again most incles seem to be fiercely ot5 and proud of it, which i love), but he doesn't have that... idk draw that brings in casual fans unfortunately u______u
oooh basically he was just regaling seungyoon with stories of how he used to always perform on the playgorund of his school as a kid. and honestly i can totally see him as that person who would be the first to sign their name on the school talent show sign ups, like he just REALLY LOVES PERFORMING? like he dances whenever there's music, in front of the yg building, moved to seoul to audition. he just really really loves to perform, and like he's so /aware/ that he lacks in rapping/singing skill, but as you said the ideas he has and his artistry are amazing. like his performance to dynamic duo's father STILL blows me away to this day, and his choreography to "please don't stop the music" is SO GRACEFUL. like srsly all of win i was bombarded with hip hop and $wag and so seunghoon's interpretive jazz just came out of nowhere and blew me away
yeah right!! like from his kind of, ~aura~ has a performer and the way he looks, you'd think he'd be mostly goofy in terms of his gags. and like don't get me wrong, he definitely can be goofy and dumb (hence why mino loves him so much), but during winner tv it was mostly mino who was doing all this dumb goofy stuff (and even seungyoon omg dumpling face), while seunghoon was pretty reserved? like his humor came from making fun of the other members and it was more deadpan. i loved that winner interview with han tv where he was just LAYING IT ON the rest of the members, and when it was his turn they were all like "FINALLY I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS." seriously i love how he just comes in and kills everyone's buzz and makes fun of them, esp cos you'd think it'd be the other way around
he was really nice in kpop star! i feel like a part of that though, is also that a lot of his earlier partners on kpop star were so much younger than him so he took on a hyung role. and i mean, like even though he starts of pretty judgemental/cynical, ultimately i do think he's a nice guy. like he is SOOOO sentimental, like his lyrics in officially missing you being about the times /before/ and the whole meaning behind "don't stop the music". also hmm, examples of him not taking to teasing well... i don't think "not taking well" is the term, more like he seems visibly unsure of how to take it? like he just stands there kind of like "...", probably because he's the one always dishing it out. like i remember during one of win's bts where seungyoon was like to him "he was on kpop star before you, but now he's on ANOTHER survival program and you're giving him advice HAHA" (in relation to akmu). and then later on seunghoon is like "wait so when did you start learning guitar?" to chanhyuk, and then he was like "WOW ONE YEAR. in one year you've completely surpassed seungyoon. in just one shot. wow. life is all about just one shot isn't it." and i was like SEUNGHOON YOU'RE SO MEAAAAN. seriously he's so mean to seungyoon i love it ("i don't wanna room with seungyoon he nags so much" "HAHAHA SEUNGYOON'S CHILDHOOD PHOTOS" "i want to play football on his forehead" )
and ia idt that's a perspective seunghoon would apply to himself either. especially because i don't think he'd be the kind of person to ever judge someone just cos they look a certain way or something? like ppl bring up what he said about mino, and while it is problematic for sure, those kinds of comments aren't uncommon in soko (most asian cultures), and a lot of ppl just say it bluntly without actually meaning anything by it
as for his confidence, ia it's so interesting *___* like i think in his case he TELLS himself to be confident, and he acts confident because that's how he knows you achieve things. but he's still SO GRATEFUL when he actually manages to achieve something. like it's one of those things where his confidence is more in terms of his dancing/ideas/what he's good at, rather than himself as a whole? he's very much aware of his limitations, so when he achieves something he gets so emotional. like as i said he seems to be really sentimental? ALSO i remember this one anon earlier saying they didn't think seunghoon was a team player and i was like WHAT. like he was the only one in team a who /was/ a team player when win first started
yeah ia, unfortunately, idk, seunghoon doesn't have the kind of... physical attraction that seems necessary when ppl choose to ship something. like ppl acknowledge his r/s but no one really wants to write about him ig. LOL YH i'm kinda confused about jinhoon too? like they seem qt, but idk i just haven't seen much? he seems closest/most comfortable with mino and seungyoon to me (omg i loved their radio guesting when seunghoon was taking over for tablo. just the way they were talking, it was so casual and nice ;;). I REALLY LIKE THE IDEA OF NAMHOON but idk how close they actually are (ALTHOUGH going back to minhoon cos they're perf, i love how when namtae was trying to prank the members and the pds asked him what each member would do he was like about seunghoon "he'd probably realise it's a prank and then tell mino". NAMTAE KNOWS WHAT'S UP). i love how seunghoon described taehyun as "a cat that hates being cuddled but hates it more when he's not being cuddled", like idk they don't seem to interact much on screen, BUT THAT IS SUCH A PERFECT ANALOGY, i can't imagine seunghoon saying that if he wasn't somewhat comfortable/endeared by taehyun?
