why is no one writing winner hipster art school canon au fics?
the discussion about the lack of yg fics in the last part made me remember that exo had a lot of fics even during their teaser era lol. winner and ikon had their own shows, but they still don't have a lot of fics. even the shipping feels less intense to me. are yg groups just too sweg and ugly to be shipped and fantasized about?👀
like i said i think ikon is gonna be the one that gets fic. i don't follow them/haven't checked their fic comm so i don't know how much there is right now but i'm already seeing more fic being linked/recced than i've ever seen for winner, or any other yg group for that matter (besides bigbang back in the day)
imo yg has really delivered for the most part this year that i'm scared about next year. i'm especially nervous about bb's album and ikon's debut

and this is the part of the day. also re: winner versus ikon fic, maybe the ages and general skinshippiness of the groups make a difference? ikon boys are a lot closer in that way where it's more tempting to ship ig? probs because they met when they were still teenagers and hence still really young, so they seem to be closer in a palpable way? winner members haven't been tgth as long and they met when they were older, so their dynamic/closeness is rly different
ot rhymer is so daft and pretentious. idols who don't self compose are definitely not going to die out. look at american pop music, a huge portion don't compose their own music and they're still going strong. likewise there are plenty of ballad singers in soko who don't compose/produce their own stuff, yet he talks about idols directly? not to mention SOMEONE is composing the music. people like shinsadong tigers, brave brothers, duble sidekick. as much as i'm not a fan of some of them, this is how they make money. i'd rather shinsadong tiger give other idol groups songs, rather than not release them at all since he can sing them himself
i feel like some (not all) hip hop artisrs are a bit naïve on how popular music works. there are other hip hop artists out there who don't like pop music (myk) but they're self-aware of where they are in comparison to mainstream pop, as well as how pop functions and WHY it's so popular

i love color ring and empty a lot as songs, but i got bored of the live performances really quick. i didn't like don't flirt at all until the lives, i would wait in anticipation to see nambooty every week
